Do not wax or shave on the morning of the treatment.
It is preferable not to apply any type of perfume, deodorant or aromatherapy oils as they may affect the treatment and on the evening before your application you will need to exfoliate your entire body, using the St Tropez Body Polish. Pay special attention to dry areas of the body such as hands elbows knees and feet, before moisturising with St Tropez Body Moisturiser.
It is also advisable to wear dark loose fitting clothes on the day of the treatment
BackThe self-tanning product has no SPF factors in it; therefore normal protection products will still need to be applied on top in order to sunbathe safely. Following a St. tropez tan we recommend the use of St. tropez SPF15 lotion. This will prolong the life of your spray tan and protect you whilst you are sunbathing
Other suntan lotions may contain ingredients which could attack the tan. St. tropez SPF15 lotion is available from the Salon; please ask if you require it. Back
The tan will start to develop 2-3 hours after application and continue to develop for up to 24 hours. It is preferable not to shower for up to 8 hours after the application.
BackIt's best to avoid swimming pools, as chlorine will bleach your tan. No sunless tan can stand up to extreme conditions and long exposure to water will fade your St. Tropez tan. Your outer cells will start to soak up water, which dilutes the effect of the tan. The longer you are in the water, the lighter your tan will get. Be sure to moisturize every day with St. tropez Body Moisturiser, as this helps maintain your tan. St. tropez Moisturiser is available from the Salon
BackThe concern some doctors have is over whether or not the active ingredient (DHA) is able to enter the blood stream. The indications are that it cannot. DHA only penetrates the top 3 layers of the skin; however, if the client is still concerned they should consult their physician first.
FYI: DHA has been used as a cosmetic ingredient in the United States since 1960 and no problems have ever been reported concerning DHA penetrating the skin, or causing problems during pregnancy.
BackYes. For the best results remove deodorant and moisturize under arm.
BackMake sure you moisturize every day. For optimum results use the St. Tropez Body Moisturizer. Exfoliate your skin with St Tropez Body Polish every 2 days to ensure your tan fades evenly.
The L-Tyrosine will activate your skin’s melanin thereby creating a longer lasting tan.
BackAvoiding trigger factors is the most obvious method of preventing skin sensitivity, but sometimes, such as in the case of air pollution, they can't be helped or are difficult to pinpoint. Through Dermalogica's thorough consultation process, your therapist can identify possible trigger factors and help you address them.
Of course, healing the skin is of paramount importance, Calming botanicals such as Oat and Red Clover extracts help to reduce inflammation, allowing the skin to recover its optimum health. To prevent future assault, protective Organic Silicones plus Dermalogica's exclusive Anti-Ozonate Complex enhance the natural barrier function of the skin, neutralizing damaging free radicals and preventing future damage from reactive ozone
BackProfessionally-speaking, skin sensitized by the environment is easily-irritated and unable to tolerate over-stimulation from aggressive environmental factors such as pollution, sudden changes in climate and humidity and certain cosmetic ingredients. While a small percentage of the population is born with genetically sensitive skin, most people who experience redness, itching and inflammation are actually suffering from an environmentally-induced reaction.
An "allergic skin," on the other hand, is the result of an immune system reaction to a particular ingredient or environmental influence. An allergic skin often exhibits the same symptoms as a sensitized skin, but is more difficult to treat and often requires a professional patch test from a Dermatologist to identify the allergen.
People with sensitized or allergic skin often avoid skin care protection because of bad reactions in the past, or because they feel that any products placed on the skin ill cause additional irritation. This is a dangerous mistake, since delicate skin should be protected from environmental irritants and pollution at all times by a professionally-recommeded product. During times of extra sensitivity or inflammation, you should supplement your daily skin care regimen with Dermalogica's Environmental Control system, a unique collection of products that provide emergency repair and protection.
BackAll people, but especially those with environmentally sensitized skin, should avoid the following commonly-used ingredients, as they have been shown to cause skin irritation: artificial fragrance, lanolin, S.D. alcohols, artificial color and mineral oil. Many companies formulate with these substances because they are cheaper. Dermalogica uses only skin-beneficial ingredients and is committed to producing the highest quality skin care system available.
BackOur skin care therapist can recommend a specialized treatment to soothe and calm your skin. For daily maintenance, we recommend that you use Dermalogica's Soothing Protection Spray to rehydrate and repair sensitized skin. Follow with Dermalogica's Barrier Repair to seal in the benefits while shielding against further sensitization.
For times of sensitivity, Dermalogica's Environmental Control System provides a regimen to reduce inflammation, repair skin damage and prevent future assaults. Your therapist can help select the products right for you, and will choose from Ultra Calming Cleanser for Face and Eyes, soothing Protection Spray and Barrier Repair. To counter the damaging effects of ozone pollution and fortify the skin's natural defenses, each product is formulated with an Anti-Ozonate Complex plus the latest in soothing botanicals to dramatically heal inflammation. Combined with the latest professional treatments, it's defensive skin care for a hostile world.
BackAcne affects the skin by a series of recurrent, infected breakouts. Classic acne blemishes include blackheads, milia, pimples and cysts. if you experience ongoing breakouts, you should seek help from a licensed skin care therapist, who may refer you to a dermatologist if the condition is sufficiently severe. With the numerous advances in skin care formulations, however, more people are combating their acne with regular facial treatments and at-home regimens.
BackMen and women's skin is similar in structure, although men tend to have more hair and increased oil production. Men can certainly benefit from a professionally-recommended skin care regime, not only to remedy shaving problems, but also to combat other problems frequently associated with men's skin. For example, because men tend to have oilier skin than woman, they tend to have blackheads and breakouts. A program of cleansing, exfoliation and moisturisation will help prevent blemishes and keep the skin in optimum condition.
BackMany people prefer not to have a complicated skin regimen, but realise that using a soap-and-water approach can damage and dehydrate the skin. Dermalogica recommends that you use Special Cleansing Gel, a soap-free, foaming skin wash, Multi-Active Toner, a rebalancing facial spritz, and Active Moist, a light, oil-free face lotion. This quick and efficient routine takes little time, and will leave your skin in its best condition.
Once you are comfortable with these three products for everyday use, consider the addition of an exfoliant like Skin Prep Scrub, which really helps with shaving preparation, and a deep-cleaning masque like Skin Refining Masque to help reduce breakouts and blackheads. And, of course, never venture into the sun without proper solar protection--a complete solar block from Dermalogica's Solar Defense System.
